August 28th Street Dance Activation

“I want us to win. I know we can.”

- Dr. Shamell Bell

Street Dance Activation

As a global collective we will raise vibrations and dance to embody Black liberation.

We are asking: How do you unlearn white supremacy and decolonize your body and your mind?

We are answering by co-creating a movement code that draws on traditional choreographies, breath and circularity.

This dance is not performative, it is radical healing, it is an act of solidarity, an embodied pledge. To move in the dance is to also move in the world.

Join us every Friday in August

Why August 28?

Our Street Dance Activism is in solidarity with Sankofa.org, INTO ACTION, and Movement for Black Lives in support of the 2020 Black National Convention and the Virtual March on Washington on August 28th 2020.

Street Dance Activism engages kinetic movement for Black liberation, using our bodies in community as a catalyst for joyous resistance and revolutionary healing.

Street Dance Activism vibrates in a present that is already here in which all Black bodies are whole and free.
